About the numbers above
Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-MSH that darkens skin by stimulating melanin. It is not approved anywhere, has been the subject of regulator warnings, and is sold for research. Nausea, flushing and new or darkening moles are the most reported effects.
Reports describe starting at 100 to 250 mcg to test tolerance, rising over days to 500 mcg or so, then dropping to occasional maintenance doses. A 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water is 5,000 mcg/mL, so 250 mcg is 0.05 mL, or 5 units. That is a small draw; 3 mL of water makes it 7.5 units. Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is a different, longer-acting compound with its own dosing.

- It depends entirely on how much water you added. In a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL, the concentration is 5 mg/mL, so 250 mcg is 0.05 mL, which is 5 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. In the same vial with 1 mL of water it is 2.5 units, and with 3 mL it is 7.5 units.
- How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg Melanotan II vial?
- 2 mL is the usual choice. It gives 5 mg/mL, which puts the commonly reported range of 100 mcg to 1000 mcg between roughly 2 and 20 units. Aim for a draw between about 10 and 50 units, where the barrel is easiest to read, and add or remove water to get there.
